The South Beach Mango Festival represents everything good about the city of Miami: tropical fruit, abundant sunshine, and of course, the sparkle and dazzle of South Beach. It’ll take over Lummus Park on Sunday, August 5th from 11-7pm. Tickets are only $20.
The festival was borne out of a simple and innocent conversation. Robert Lansburgh, the founder and creative director, was sitting in his kitchen one morning with his wife. He was enjoying a particularly good mango and couldn’t help but think about a dedicated mango festival in the city. From there, he connected with Chef Allen Susser, and the rest became history. The festival not only gives the people of South Florida a chance to celebrate a beloved fruit, but it also directly benefits Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Miami.
Guests can expect lots of fun and fruit-related activities at the all-day event. There will be live music, cooking classes and panels, and even a kids area with a bounce house. Of course, there will also be plenty of delicious mango-themed treats on site along with an eating competition if you think you’re up to the challenge.
