Justin Timberlake is arguably underrated, yet his talent is undeniable. He’s a dancer, a songwriter, an actor, a singer, and a producer, and he’s bringing his many, many talents to South Florida. As part of his Man of the Woods Tour, he’ll be stopping at American Airlines Arena in Miami on Friday, May 18th. The show kicks off at 8pm, and tickets are on sale now.
If you’re a new Justin fan (that Superbowl performance sold you, didn’t it?) or simply need a refresher, here’s what to know about the superstar:
He was born and raised in Tennessee and got into entertainment as just a child. He appeared on the hit show Star Search and was part of The All-New Mickey Mouse Club before joining the band NSYNC, which is the one of the best-selling boy bands of all time by the way. He left the group for a solo career, and his debut album Justified came in second on the Billboard 200 chart. It sold nearly half a million copies in its first week and earned him his first two Grammys for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
Since then, he’s continued to thrive in entertainment. He’s earned 8 more Grammys, 4 Emmys, and 7 American Music Awards just to name a few. He’s also established himself a worthy actor with roles in The Social Network, Bad Teacher, Friends with Benefits and the sci-fi drama In Time alongside Amanda Seyfried.
His latest release and tour namesake, Man of the Woods, is actually named after his son Silas and influenced by his Southern upbringing. He said his newest music “sounds like where he comes from more than any other music he’s ever made.”
Fans will undoubtedly enjoy the hits they’ve come to love over the years, but they’ll also get to see and experience a more authentic Justin. They’ll get to hear music that he feels represents him the most, and that’s sure to make for one great concert.
Enjoy the show, Miami!
