Miami International Auto Show

It’s almost that time of year again. And if you consider yourself a car enthusiast at all, you already know I’m talking about the 45th annual Miami International Auto Show.

Billed as the largest and most prestigious auto show in the nation, this show features more than 1,000 new vehicles from about 40 different car manufacturers worldwide. And the fact that they managed to sell out of their pre-sale tickets months before the show is a clear indication that the show really is as awesome as the organizers say.

But don’t worry, for those who didn’t know to snag them early, some tickets will still be available for purchase at the door. The event will be help from Sept. 10- Sept. 18 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

When the show debuted back in 1971, Miami was on the short list of cities which only included Detroit, Los Angeles, New York and Chicago that offered this kind of event for auto enthusiasts. Of course, 45 years later, that has changed.

More than 60 cities across the country host auto shows but in its long history, the Miami International Auto Show has remained among the largest and most anticipated.

The automakers who will be present include everything from Acura and Lamborghini to Maserati and Toyota. And many of the more than 1,000 vehicles that will brought into the Miami Beach Convention Center won’t even be available for purchase until far off into the future.

The eight-day show will also feature special event that have a little something for everyone. Those include Topless in Miami’s display of convertible cars in a picturesque Miami environment, and Havana Classics, a spin-off of Memory Lane celebrating nostalgia of the 50s. Plus Ride & Drive events, including Camp Jeep will also be back at Convention Center Drive, according to the event website.
