The Drake Summer Sixteen tour would not be complete without a stop in Miami. That’s goes without saying. The only thing that makes more sense than a Miami show… is two shows.
That’s what fans get come August. The back to back shows will be held at the American Airlines Arena Aug. 30th and 31st.
The Drake Summer Sixteen Tour featuring Future and other artists comes after the release of Drake’s most recent album, Views, that already has chart topping singles like “Hotline Bling,” which made it to Number 2 on Billboard Top 100 and “Summer Sixteen,” “Pop Style” and “One Dance,” all of which graced the Billboard’s Top 20.
The Canadian rapper is no stranger to dropping hits and getting people excited about his music. And of course, he knows how to set himself apart instead of following the crowd. One of the clear ways he does that is my playing with the flexibility of genre.
Drake artfully mixes hip-hop and R&B sounds as he both raps and sings on his tracks creating his unique sounds.
Although he often leans on the expected hip-hop tropes – women and money – he also knows how and when to get emotional and tell (what we can only assume is) the truth, further separating himself from the what you expect when you think “rapper.”
As if you needed more convincing that now was the time to take a trip to Miami, seeing the Drake Summer Sixteen tour right here in Miami’s American Airlines Arena should be all you need to make it here. What a time to be alive.
Of course you’ll need a place to lay your head when you’re here. Do it in style at the Hotel Urbano. Be in walking distance from the beach and live in up like only Miami will allow.
End Summer Sixteen the right way.
