The 2016 American tour co-headlined by bands Modest Mouse and Brand New is making a stop at Miami’s Bayfront Park Amphitheatre this summer.
The bands announced the tour earlier this year and promised fans that there would be no opening acts. Instead both Modest Mouse and Brand New will play full headline sets. Their Miami stop is July 8th. For tickets headed to Ticketmaster.com.
Modest Mouse formed in the early 1990s but didn’t see significant mainstream success until they moved to Epic Records and released their album The Moon & Antarctica. That album was well received with music blog Pitchfork going so far as to say that they album was so impactful that it “justifies our existence.”
From then on, Modest Mouse, who started in Seattle’s rock scene, became a household name among lovers of rock music.
Around the same time on the other side of America, alternative rock musicians Brand New came together to form a band. Although they never reached the same level of mainstream success, Brand New still had a solid fan base that supported their work.
Last October, lead vocalist and guitarist Jesse Lacey announced during a heartfelt speech that “this isn’t going to last much longer.” His speech suggested that the band would not stay together in the future. It came shortly before the December release of Leaked Demos 2006.
It’s not clear how much longer the band will make music together. This could very well be the last chance to see the band perform in South Florida. Don’t miss out on the Modest Mouse and Brand New Miami concert.
Since you’re venturing down to Bayfront Park anyway, make it worth your while and stretch you Fourth of July weekend. Come for the holiday and stay a while.
Once you’ve got your hands on your tickets to the Modest Mouse and Brand New show, book your stay at Hotel Urbano.
