The Cure tour is headed to Miami. The Cure, one of the first alternative bands to ever see commercial success, will stop off in Miami to perform at Bayfront Park this summer.
Coming of age in the late 1970s, The Cure laid the ground work for gothic rock to be recognized as a genre. But as goth rock became more popular, the band stepped away from their categorization for a sound that mixed rock and pop – a move that brought them success in their native England, across Europe and in America.
Although their music has evolved over time, their look has not changed much. They are still known for their iconic ghoulish presence on stage.
Over their decades of enduring fame, vocalist and guitarist Robert Smith is the only original member that is still with the band. But despite the changes, The Cure’s influence on other musicians who have come up in their wake is evident.
The Cure, who sold out concerts for decades, will perform on June 26 and June 27. The Miami concert is a part of the American leg of their 2016 tour. Tickets are on sale at livenation.com.
Visitors drawn to town by The Cure, book your stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Miami South Beach- Royal Polo and experience Miami from the heart of the historic art deco district.
