This weekend some of the most talented and creative artists from all over the world will come together in Miami for the annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival.
The festival will run from Feb. 13 through Presidents Day on Monday, Feb 15. It’s a “Celebration of Arts” that will feature creative work from across platforms of visual, performing and even culinary arts.
The festival started more than 50 years ago as a “clothesline” art show that featured only a few dozen local artists.
Now it will take over about a mile of Miami in the scenic Coconut Grove area to feature the work of more than 350 artists and draw more than 100,000 spectators.
Those featured are a mix of newcomers and seasoned artists who have already gotten international recognition.
Art lovers not only get the chance to view the beautiful pieces but much of the work is also available for sale. Proceeds fund year-long arts programs, scholarships for local students and special exhibitions at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery.
The showcase will also feature live music everyday from the main stage in Peacock Park. Among the headliners are Nth Power, The London Souls and Locus Por Juana.
Don’t forget to stop by the Culinary Pavilion to sample the food of 12 world-renowned chefs who will prepare their most famous dishes and explain the cultural significance of it all.
Tickets are $15 each day but children under 12 enter free. For more information and to buy tickets, visit CGAF.com.
