Miami International Boat Show

There is nothing like the freedom of the open sea.

But whether you’re a boat owner and can feel the cool salt water against your skin on a whim or just an appreciator with a dream, you can get a taste of life at sea at the annual Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show this weekend.

For the first time, the show is moving from to Miami Beach Convention Center to the Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin.

The new location on Virginia Key, minutes away from downtown Miami, is making it easier than ever to enjoy activities on both land and sea.

By water, the five-day boat show will include opportunities for guest to join in on powerboating workshops. Classes can last from one hour to three hours and teach basic docking skills, open water handling and precision boat control.

For those who would rather learn on dry land, don’t feel left out.

A collection of vintage water crafts will be on display and lots of kid-friendly activities will also be available for the long President’s Day weekend.

The show opens on Thursday, Feb. 11 and runs through Monday, Feb. 15.

Tickets are $35 on opening day and $20 for adults each day after. Two and five-day passes are also available. Children 15 and younger get in free.

Don’t rush through the holiday weekend. Be in the center of the action and stay a while at the Royal Polo Miami Beach by Hilton Garden Inn.
