Ford Championship Weekend will return to the Homestead-Miami Speedway for the 14th consecutive year. And for the first time since 2012, race weekend falls the weekend before Thanksgiving, November 20-22. Race weekend consists of three Championship finales, or season-ending races: the Nascar Sprint Cup, Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series.
Experience the speed, exhilaration and heart pumping actions as the world’s best drivers hit speeds of up to 180 this November.
Championship Weekend Schedule:
November 20 – 8:00 PM ET
The Truck Series is of all of the young, up-and-coming drivers looking to breakthrough to the Nascar national series level.
November 21 – 2:45 PM ET
The Xfinity Series is seen as the second most prestigious of the three Nascar series and is viewed as the “Triple-A” of professional racing. Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. honed their craft in this circuit before moving up to the Sprint Cup.
November 22 – 3:00 PM ET
The Nascar Sprint Cup Series is seen as the most prestigious and viewed as the major league level.
Homestead-Miami Speedway has hosted Nascar’s Championship races every year since 2002, including all six of Jimmie Johnson’s Cup titles, the tie breaker between Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart in 2011 and Kurt Busch hoisting the first Chase hardware in 2004 after holding off Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon in the last lap to win the title by a margin of eight points.
What historical moment will happen this year? Only time will tell but this will be the last go round for Nascar legend Jeff Gordon, who has decided to retire after the 2015 season.
